Niku Kivekäs

Niku has a background in aerosol- and cloud research and has been setting up ACTRIS and its Head Office since 2014. He coordinates the interactions and planning and reporting of activities between ACTRIS Head Office, Central Facilities and National Facilities.  

Carmela Cornacchia

Carmela Cornacchia

She has a PhD at the University of Basilicata in water vapor and aerosol remote sensing. She collected long experience in promoting projects in collaboration with the private sector. She has been involved in ACTRIS starting from the ESFRI process preparation in 2015. 

Giulia Saponaro

Senior Officer, Communications

Giulia Saponaro

Giulia manages the organization’s communications and outreach. She is currently involved in the EU projects ATMO-ACCESS, RI-URBANS, and ENVRINNOV. Giulia holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences and an MBA in business communication and strategic management.

Anna Salonen

With a long experience in public administration, finances and research funding, her main duties include financial planning and management, and the development and implementation of HR processes in ACTRIS ERIC. She is also involved in EU projects.

Silja Häme

She has a PhD in atmospheric aerosol research and has participated in ACTRIS preparations and implementation by performing administrative and development tasks since 2017.

Mikhail Paramonov

Mikhail Paramonov

He has PhD from the University of Helsinki, and his background is in aerosol-cloud-climate interactions. He has been working in ACTRIS as a Project Manager since the summer of 2019.

Pirjo Kontkanen

She has expertise in intellectual property rights in legal matters and negotiations concerning university research projects and EU research funding. Her main tasks over the last ten years are related to ESFRI research infrastructures.

Alfred Wiedensohler

He is Head of the World Calibration Center for Aerosol Physics at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) in Leipzig and is Adjunct Professor at the University of Leipzig, Germany.

Martial Haeffelin

Martial Haeffelin has 25-year experience in atmospheric remote sensing research. He conducts research on cloud physical processes and remote sensing, as well as cloud effects on the solar resource for photovoltaic energy production. He is currently the Deputy Director of Institut Pierre Simon Laplace, in charge of Earth Observations, and acts as scientific director of ACTRIS-FR.

As a senior researcher at KIT, Kristina Höhler investigates ice nucleating particles using the cloud simulation chamber AIDA and mobile instruments. Kristina is leading the CF CIS and the CCIce Unit.
